Is the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Street Legal
Lamborghini propels its entry-level super sports car to new heights with the Huracán STO. The name stands for Super Trofeo Omologata and is essentially a road-legal version of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and Huracán GT3 EVO race cars, the latter being multiple winners of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. What we see appears to be a real Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo race car converted for road use, as you can see on its license plate. So if we look at the Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce that just came out, we might get an idea of how Lamborghini will handle the lightweight version of their V10 supercar, on the spy footage, the body of the car looks standard, but I`m sure Lamborghini will turn the Huracan Superleggera into a road version of their race cars. So at the front, we`ll likely see a more aggressive bumper, with massive air intakes, but without the “ducks” on the side. Because these would not be legal for the road worldwide. Is the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo street legal, you ask? In a word, no! The high-performance version of the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 is a pure track vehicle. It was built specifically for the Super Trofeo Motorsport racing series. The original Huracan Super Trofeo was introduced in 2014 with rear-wheel drive and appears to be the variant we`re looking at as opposed to the new Super Trofeo Evo. From a visual point of view, this road-legal version looks virtually identical to the race car, which brings us to the question of how it was approved for road traffic, especially in Germany where vehicles require TÜV certification.
On the side, the Super Trofeo`s stunning lower sills would look fantastic on a Huracan Superleggara. I`d like to see wider wheel arches and the side skirts of the GT3 car on a Superleggera, but I think that would actually be too wild. A Huracan Superleggera is a lightweight version inspired by the race of the regular car. Not a legal racing driver on the road, rather impractical. Last week, spy footage was taken of what many believe to be the road-legal version of the impressive Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo race car, AutoGuide published photos of a black Huracan with a rather interesting exhaust system. Alex Choi did it again. He officially launched a legal Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo on the street, which Choi revealed in a highly anticipated video on his YouTube channel. Chois Super Trofeo Evo is a pink Lamborghini. The color is deceiving. It looks pretty enough to go to a Barbie doll tea, but brutal enough to rip off the tarmac of best-selling supercars. The same goes for the rear bottom diffuser, even the one used on the Huracan Super Trofeo might be too much for a road car, so I took inspiration from the Aventador Superveloce for my renderings and used a rear diffuser in that style. Always very aggressive and with these vertical fins for stability but soft for road use. A three-lap Super Trofeo Lambo powertrain is currently on offer for £79, which is much cheaper than the £200,000 excluding VAT it costs to buy a new one! With the new aerodynamics, we probably haven`t lost too much weight yet compared to the original Huracan, especially since the rear wing and lower diffuser would likely offset any weight loss we`ve managed to lose from the front bumper and side skirts. Choi has been working on his bespoke Super Trofeo Evo for two years. Lamborghini claims that the engine sound is sharper at high revs, while gear changes are faster. Riders can choose from three new modes, including STO, Trofeo and Pioggia. The second optimizes the car`s systems for dry asphalt and best lap times on the track, while the third is specifically designed for wet and slippery conditions. Huracan Super Trofeo models are powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 612 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque at 6,500 rpm. However, we wouldn`t be surprised if this car was modified to offer more power. At the front, the car retains a distinctive bumper with aerodynamic ducks and large air extractors on the hood. In addition, we can see that much of the body has been left in exposed carbon fiber, including the front wheel arches with louvers. Turn backwards and it`s also covered in carbon fiber and contains a massive rear spoiler, diffuser and the engine hood of the race car.
Heck, even the runner`s plastic side windows have been preserved. As with any other Lamborghini model, owners of the Huracán STO can fully customize the exterior and interior thanks to the Ad Personam customization program. Delivery will begin in spring 2021. Looking closely at the black Huracan in the photos, it looks like the brakes are also slightly bigger, while a sticker from Becker Carbon, a well-known carbon fiber specialist, might suggest we`re dealing with a lightweight, lightweight version of the current production V10. which may seem strange since Lamborghini has its own carbon fiber research department, so why would they hire a third party.
