According to another amendment with the addition of clause (vi) after point (v) of subtitle (7), `parental leave may not be granted for a period of less than five days at a time`. Jammu: “A single employee” receives “parental leave” benefits on the same basis as a J&K government employee and receives “one hundred percent of the salary received immediately prior to the leave” for the first year of that (parental) leave. After the amendment, paragraph (3) shall be replaced by the following: “During parental leave, one worker and one single worker shall receive one hundred per cent of the wages received immediately before the commencement of the leave for the first three hundred and sixty-five days and eighty per cent of the remuneration for the following three hundred and sixty-five days.” You are entitled to eighty percent of the salary for the following year. “However, in the case of a single worker, the granting of three periods in a calendar year is extended to six periods in a calendar year,” reads the amended part at the end of paragraph (ii) of paragraph 7. A major change in this context was made on Wednesday to the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Leave Rules 1979. According to a submission from the Jammu and Kashmir Department of Finance (Codes Division), the amendment was made to Rule 41-A of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Leave Regulations 1979. “These provisions will come into force from the date of issuance of the notice,” ordered Finance Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Finance Department Atal Dulloo. The amendment was made by Lieutenant Governor J&K in the exercise of the powers conferred by Article 309 of the Constitution of India. “In provision (1), the words `employees` shall be replaced by the words `single employees,`” the notice reads. The term “single male employee” includes a “single, widowed or divorced government employee.” .
