The Stanford Law Review has a word limit of 30,000 words (including footnotes) and a preference of 20,000 words or less. We appreciate brevity and positively consider articles below the 30,000-word limit. The Stanford Law Review is one of the fifteen major law journals to have signed this joint statement. The Law Review will attempt to comply with all expedited review requests. We are not always able to respond personally to each request because we receive a large number of expedited review requests and the time frame within which we must complete the review is limited. If you don`t submit an exclusive lead at the beginning, there`s no hard science on when to apply to Law Reviews. Therefore, filing during one of these peak periods could improve your chances of publication, as a high percentage of legal journals are likely to be opened and review articles. Authors who have received an offer to publish from another journal or legal journal may request expedited review through Scholastica. While expedited review of your bid does not provide a competitive advantage, we strive to review expedited documents in a timely manner.
